January 15, 2024 Jordan Radio & Television Corporation has launched six new digital channels for the JRTV platform in collaboration with Jordan Media City

December 13, 2021 the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Amman Aidarbek Toumatov visited the headquarters of Jordan Media City (JMC)
During the meeting CEO of JMC Radi Alkhas informed the diplomat about the activities of the company, which currently transmits over 300 local and foreign TV and radio channels.
Prospects for establishing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the field of telecommunications, digital technologies and the media industry were discussed at the meeting.

The expanded system was installed by JMC engineering team and commissioned jointly with Imagine Communications during Q2 of 2020.
Imagine Communications has upgraded its proven playout facilities at Jordan Media City (JMC) in Amman. JMC is a production and transmission centre in the Middle East, providing services to multiple broadcasters and service providers.
Imagine installed its first servers at JMC in 2004 and began the migration to high-definition (HD) channels in 2016. The latest expansion provides capabilities for 18 premium, full-functionality SD and HD channels.
Content delivery from ingest to on-air branding and playout is achieved using software-centric tools running on cost-efficient COTS hardware. The flexible, robust and readily scalable solution enables JMC to switch the 18 premium channels freely between SD and HD to meet demand.
The capacity was scaled through the deployment of five additional Nexio+ AMP playout servers, providing 30 bidirectional ports. In addition, JMC Nexio online shared storage, Platinum VX router and Selenio 6800+ modular processing were expanded to meet the additional demands.
The expansion project doubled the JMC facility existing 32TB of shared storage including intrinsic mirroring, with the additional disk space being integrated into the single server environment without interruption to operations. The result is high-performance, high-bandwidth core storage with the highest levels of digital asset protection.
The expanded system was installed by JMC engineering team and commissioned jointly with Imagine Communications during Q2 of 2020.
Commenting on the development, Radi Alkhas, CEO of JMC, said: Imagine Communications has been a key technology partner for as long as JMC has been in business and has developed a close understanding of our operations, so can proactively develop solutions with us as we grow. MAY 19, 2020 Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel , Chairman and Founder of the Dallah Albaraka Group & Founder of Arab Radio and Television Network (ART) & Jordan Media City
Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel died in Jeddah on Monday 18 May 2020, Saudi media reported. He died at Dr Samir Abbas Hospital in Jeddah.
He was the chairman and founder of the Dallah Albaraka Group, one of the Middle East largest conglomerates and a multi-national holding company with investments including the financial, banking, healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, transportation, media, operations and maintenance sectors.
Kamel, who founded Arab Radio and Television Network (ART) in 1993, was also the chairman of the General Council for Islamic Banks and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In addition to being chairman and member of many boards within his companies and sister companies, Kamel served on the boards of trustees and directors in many social, charitable and cultural societies and foundations such as the Arab Thought Foundation, King Abdul Aziz and His Companions Foundation for Gifted.

March 31, 2020 Jordan Media City upgrades playout with Pebble Marina automation
Jordan Media City (JMC) has ordered a significant expansion for the Marina automation solution at its Amman headquarters, expanding on its current solution from Pebble Beach Systems that is already in place.
JMC was an early adopter of Pebble automation solutions, deploying a first-generation Neptune automation system around 16 years ago. Having partially upgraded the playout of some of its channels to Marina in 2016, the broadcaster has now taken the decision to upgrade all 18 channels to Marina, due to go live this summer.
The system to be deployed is a 12-channel expansion to the current six-channel HD/SD fully redundant playout system. This features automatic media management from a near line store and a DIVA archive, all of which is managed by the Marina enterprise-level automation and content management application using a single database. The World Teleport Association (WTA) today published its annual rankings for the Top Teleport Operators of 2019. The annual rankings of companies by revenue and revenue growth are compiled by surveying teleport operators around the world as well as referencing the published results of publicly-held companies.
The teleport and space sector are undergoing rapid change today, said executive director Robert Bell, which is stressing all business models and driving a breakneck pace of innovation and adaptation. The average teleport spent 77% of its revenue on satellite capacity in 2013; this year, it was 45%. As connectivity is commoditized, the search is on for higher levels of value to deliver to customers.
In May 2020, WTA will publish its annual Inside the Top Operators report that will provide a more detailed analysis of survey results.
